The essentials about violet-corrected mousse — before your first tanning session.
Conventional self-tanners develop warm — meaning they oxidize toward orange. The violet base is a color-correction layer, the same principle as violet shampoo for blonde hair. It neutralizes the orange notes during develop so the finished tan reads cool-bronze instead of yellow-tan. The mousse looks dark violet in the bottle. Your skin will not.
Six hours from application. You'll see an instant guide color the moment it goes on — that's the cosmetic bronzer that washes off in your first shower. The real, developed color shows around hour six and continues to deepen for another two hours after. Apply at night, shower in the morning, ready for the day.
Yes — but build it slowly. Use about half what you'd use on the body, blend with a clean mitt or buffing brush, and avoid the brow line and hairline. The formula is non-comedogenic and ceramide-supported, so it sits well over most face routines. Re-apply every four to five days for maintenance.
If you're nervous about how dark it'll turn out, mix a pea-sized drop into your usual face moisturizer before applying. It dilutes the develop intensity into a soft, gradual glow that's easy to layer over a few nights.
Seven to ten days for most skin types. The hyaluronic acid and squalane base help it fade evenly without flaking. You'll get the longest wear by moisturizing daily, keeping showers lukewarm, and avoiding chlorinated pools for the first twenty-four hours.
The bronzer guide color is what causes most of the staining — not the developed tan itself. It transfers slightly until it sets, which takes about six hours. Once you've showered and rinsed the guide off, the developed color underneath stays where it should.
A few easy ways to protect your bedding and clothes:
The formula is paraben-free, sulfate-free, fragrance-allergen-free, and built for sensitive skin. We left out the irritants most tanners rely on. If you're new to self-tan or react easily, patch-test on the inner arm twenty-four hours before a full application.
